Objectives

The main objectives of the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs (ALE) are to create awareness and assist women to generate income and develop the home based works to a business and to provide assistance to women entrepreneurs, safeguard women entrepreneurs and their businesses and also by providing assistance to women entrepreneurs at a national level.  ALE’s aim is to change women’s livelihood and inter dependency by allowing them to earn and become financially independent.

                

Our objectives include:

 

  • Advice and provide information on vocations that women can earn a living on. Also assist the Government on women development projects as well as disseminate information regarding these projects to the women in the atolls.
  • Establish an information hub where women entrepreneurs can exchange their views and ideas for their growth. 
  • Provide training and insight to women on business and money making vocations and to be independent financially.
  • Analyse the importance that can be given to women entrepreneurs and educate and inform the society on women entrepreneurship.
  • Provide assistance and technical training to women entrepreneurs.
  • Enable to create a viable economic and political environment for women entrepreneurs to voice out their problems and grievances.
  • Assist women entrepreneurs to market their products in the Maldives.
  • Conduct training workshops throughout the atolls and assist women to establish their own businesses. Also work on minimising exporting products to the market which would assist the local women entrepreneurs to market and sell their products nationally.
  • Conduct mentoring and business counselling programmes to create awareness for women entrepreneurs in the atolls.
  • Assist in providing solutions for issues that may rise in the business environment.
  • Assist women entrepreneurs to get the relevant paperwork and documents from the government authorities which would enable them to participate in international fairs or receive international awards.
  • Assist and aid women entrepreneurs to receive short and long term training programmes.
  • Finding opportunities for women entrepreneurs to participate in the trade fairs abroad.
  • Finding training programs for women entrepreneurs from other countries

                     

 

To fulfil the mentioned objectives, the association has to be a self-sustaining financially. In order to do this the association can give its property and assets as collateral, as well as partner with other associations, take out bank loans, rent or rent out land, buildings and assets. Also do any other works that the association sees fit to be self-sufficient and sustained.
